Internet and E-Commerce Law provides a concise yet comprehensive introduction to the laws of e-commerce and the Internet. It starts with an introduction to the Internet, e-commerce and the legal system, and progresses logically through relevant areas of law, ranging from commercial issues, such as contract formation and consumer protection, to intellectual property, policy and regulatory issues, such as copyright, spam and computer crime. The text is written in a friendly, easily digestible style, with a focus on the overriding principles of the law. This approach makes it suitable for a broad range of students, including those with limited background knowledge of the law. With suggestions for further reading in each chapter, and an online resource centre providing sample questions and references to more supplementary reading, the text...

The goal of this thesis is to use and advance the techniques developed in the field of exact and approximation algorithms for many of the problems arising in the context of the Internet. We will formalize the method of dual fitting and the idea of factor-revealing LP. We use this combination to design and analyze two greedy algorithms for the metric uncapacitated facility location problem. Their approximation factors are 1.861 and 1.61 respectively. We also provide the first polynomial time algorithm for the linear version of a market equilibrium model defined by Irving Fisher in 1891. Our algorithm is modeled after Kuhn's primal-dual algorithm for bipartite matching. We also study the connectivity properties of the Internet graph and its impact on its structure. In particular, we consider the model of growth with preferential attachme...
This thesis deals with the process of viewing TV-series over the internet. It defines the act of media convergence. First of all, I describe the overview on the current research status which deals with theories of media-use, convergence and a study about downloading. The next step was defining the term of series cause of possible changes implicated through the internet. Afterwards, the history of series is described. Then, some technical terms concerning viewing series over the internet, are explained. Also the possibility of a more individual composition of time cause of the media convergent and cross medial media-use is discussed. Before going empiric, the legal situation is defined; the scientific interest, the research question, the method and the implementation are described. In the end, the results are discussed, first in...
