Of the five personality dimensions described by the Big Five Personality Model (Costa and McCrae 1992), Extraversion and Agreeableness are the traits most commonly associated with a pro-social orientation. In this study we tested whether a pro-social orientation, as expressed in terms of Extraversion and Agreeableness, is associated with a specific grey matter phenotype. The creation of a pervasive and intelligent environment makes possible the remote work with good results in a great range of applications. However, the critical health care is one of the most difficult areas to implement it. In particular Intensive Care Units represent a new challenge for this field, bringing new requirements and demanding for new features that should be satisfied if we want to succeed. This paper presents a framework to evaluate future developments in order to efficiently adapt an Intelligent Decision Support System to a pervasive approach in the area of critical health (INTCare research project).
The impact of arsenic on human health has led its drinking water MCL to be drastically reduced from 50 to 10 ppb. Consequently, arsenic levels in many water supply sources have become critical. This has resulted in technical and operational impacts on many drinking water treatment plants that have required onerous upgrading to meet the new standard. This becomes a very sensitive issue in the context of water scarcity and climate change, given the expected increasing demand on groundwater sources. Parallel corpora are resources used in Natural Language Processing and Computational Linguistics. They are defined as a set of texts, in different languages, that are translations of each other. Note that these translations do not need to cover the full document, as we might have sentences translated just on some of the languages. When dealing with the process of sharing resources, recent years have bet on the use of XML formats. This is no different when talking about parallel corpora sharing. Background. There have been few attempts to estimate progression of kidney disease in people with diabetes in a single large population with predictive modelling. The aim of this study was to investigate the rate of progression of chronic kidney disease in people with diabetes according to their estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and presence of albuminuria. Methods. Data were collected on all people with diabetes in Salford, UK, where an eGFR could be calculated using the four-variable MDRD formula and urinary albumin–creatinine ratio (uACR) was available. Completely convinced of the benefits of Perl for the implementation of language processors and after doing a deep review of the state of the art on parser generation in Perl, we have identified a clear need for a powerful tool that accepts attribute grammars and builds compilers in Perl. The ob jective of this paper is to present a solution based on the developing of a back-end for ANTLR to generate attribute based language processors in Perl, to overcome the lack of this kind tools described in the preliminary study referred above.
