The Universal Transducer Interface (UTI) is a mass-produced interface circuit which can realize the functions of measuring signals of various sensors such as capacitive sensors, resistive-bridge sensors and resistive sensors. For some of the front-ends, an instrumentation amplifier, which is implemented with dynamic-element-matching (DEM) for its feedback structure, is integrated in the chip. In certain UTI modes, this amplifier is used to amplify small output signals of a resistive-bridge sensor or a single resistive sensor before it enters the applied modulator. Using a vortex sheet method we prove global existence of a near circular initial bubble in a Hele-Shaw cell with surface tension and generally finite nonzero viscosity ratio between fluids inside and outside the bubble. The circular shape is shown to be asymptotically stable for all sufficiently smooth small perturbation. The initial condition in this case, while smooth, need not be analytic.
This paper concerns global existence for arbitrary nonzero surface tension of bubbles in a Hele-Shaw cell that translate in the presence of a pressure gradient. When the cell width to bubble size is sufficiently large, we show that a unique steady translating near-circular bubble symmetric about the channel centerline exists, where the bubble translation speed in the laboratory frame is found as part of the solution. We prove global existence for symmetric sufficiently smooth initial conditions close to this shape and show that the steady translating bubble solution is an attractor within this class of disturbances. In the absence of side walls, we prove stability of the steady translating circular bubble without restriction on symmetry of initial conditions. The shear stress and the normal stresses in the thickness direction at interfaces (referred as interfacial shear and transverse normal stresses hereafter) have played a significant role in understanding the premature debonding failure of beams strengthened by bonding steel/composite plates at their tension surfaces. Due to the occurrence of dissimilar materials and the abrupt change of the cross section, the stress distribution at plate ends becomes singular and hence is considerably complicated. Lactobacillus brevis accumulates lactose and nonmetabolizable lactose analogues via sugar/H+ symport, but addition of glucose to the extracellular medium results in rapid efflux of the free sugar from the cells due to the uncoupling of sugar transport from proton transport. By using vesicles of L. brevis cells, we recently showed that these regulatory/effects could be attributed to the metabolite-activated ATP-dependent protein kinase-catalyzed phosphorylation of serine-46 in the phosphocarrier protein HPr [HPr(Ser-P)] of the phosphotransferase system and that a mutant form of HPr with the serine-46-->aspartate replacement ([S46D]HPr) is apparently locked in the seryl phosphorylated conformation.
