Any unitary transformation can be decomposed into a product of a group of near-trivial transformations. We investigate in details the construction of universal quantum circuit of near trivial transformations. We first construct two universal quantum circuits which can implement any single-qubit rotation $R_y(\theta)$ and $R_z(\theta)$ within any given precision, and then we construct universal quantum circuit implementing any single-qubit transformation within any given precision. Finally, a universal quantum circuit implementing any $n$-qubit near-trivial transformation is constructed using the universal quantum circuits of $R_y(\theta)$ and $R_z(\theta)$. Very little literature has evaluated the efficacy of conservation strategies for controlling migrant bird poaching in the world's protected areas. This study reflects a program evaluation which was conducted in the Kenting National Park, Taiwan, using Action Research process to protect two fall migrant birds in flyways of Eastern Asia: gray-faced buzzard-eagle and brown shrike from being poached on cultivated lands in the Hengchun Peninsula. This research examines the policing, school education and village advocacy, and diagnoses the deficiencies in policy and program planning, target response, and program delivery. In this paper, we propose a novel semi-distributed algorithm with low overhead and complexity for multi-user cooperative wireless networks with opportunistic relaying. The source is required to satisfy its minimum rate requirement with a feasible relay and help another source as a relay. The optimal solution can be obtained by exhaustive search with intractable computational complexity. Simulation results suggest that the proposed relay selection algorithm has the similar outage probability as the exhaustive search approach but with much less computational burden.
This thesis provides an empirical analysis of the determinants of foreign direct investment in commercial real estate (FDIRE) in the U.S. We examine the major factors that affect levels of FDIRE in the U.S. and foreign investors' location preferences. First, using panel data from 2002 to 2006, this research develops a model to test the importance of GDP, GDP growth, national investment level, exchange rate, and interest rate in determining levels of FDIRE in the U.S. from major developed countries. Results of the study suggest that economic growth of a country unexpectedly encourages domestic investment rather than foreign investment, and depreciation of currency value of the host country attracts more FDIRE. Human T-lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) Tax exerts pleiotropic effects on multiple cellular regulatory processes to bring about NF-κB activation, aberrant cell cycle progression, and cell transformation. Here we report that Tax stimulates cellular G1/S entry but blocks mitosis. Tax expression in naive cells transduced with a retroviral vector, pBabe-Tax, leads to a significant increase in the number of cells in the S phase, with an accompanying rise in the population of cells with a DNA content of 4N or more.
